Bourke Shire Council, which is responsible for managing one of the largest local government areas in Australia, is seeking the services of highly motivated, enthusiastic and proactive professional to manage Tourism and Development in the Bourke Shire Council area. Whilst Tourism and Development will be the primary focus of the role, the position will provide the opportunity to undertake a diverse range of other duties within Councils sphere of operation.

The position is grade 7 within Council’s Salary Structure, with a salary range of $93,704 to $112,476 pa subject to qualifications and skills. In addition to the salary component, Council will pay compulsory superannuation of 9.5% and a motor vehicle will be supplied with private use being available in accordance with Council’s Policy. A Council residence may be available for rental to the successful applicant.

Manager Tourism and Development:

This Manager is responsible to the General Manager for service delivery relevant to the development and enhancement of Tourism and the economic and social well being of the residents within the Bourke Shire Council area. They are also responsible for the promotion of the benefits of increased investment, utilising the natural and man-made resources of the Shire, to the community generally, and developers specifically.

The ideal applicant will have outstanding and relevant management experience; will be a team player willing to actively participate in the development of the community, in conjunction with the Council, other staff and the community; and will possess outstanding interpersonal skills.
